A Daily Reflection on the Scripture Readings at Mass…

“Hallelujah! Blessed the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commands. Lavishly he gives to the poor; his righteousness shall endure forever; his horn shall be exalted in honor.” (Psalm 112:1,9)

Who do you fear?

Fear of the Lord is one of the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. This fear, given by the Holy Spirit, is a deep awe and respect for the Glory of God and His infinite Goodness and Power. A person who receives and nourishes this gift will desire to love God with everything he has and is, holding nothing back, and also love others as himself.

Do we lavishly give to the poor and strive to honor and serve the Good God? Who do we fear? Who do we serve?

How can I serve the Lord today? Who will He place in my path?
