Daily Reflection—Desire Prayer, Not Signs

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” (Matthew 12:38).

I suspect that each of us, from time to time, desire a sign—some indication from God that everything is alright and that we are on the right path. But, Jesus tells us that we have enough signs, if we will only see and if we will only hear. The parables of the Kingdom that follow this passage make this case emphatically!

The simple reality is that there is greater awareness and clarity of communication when we are more present to the one from whom we seek a sign.

Do you want to know what God asks of you? Do you want confirmation that you follow His will? Do you need more consolations that encourage you in His love?

Then pray, ever more deeply and frequently—motivated out of love for God. Then you will become aware of the many signs He has already given you.

In God Alone…
