Four Catholics, Four Takes… on How Making The Movie, The Rite, Impacted Their Lives – by Mark Armstrong

The Integrated Catholic Life recently screened The Rite, visited with the stars, director and screenwriter and spoke to them concerning how the movie impacted their views of Catholicism, the rite of Exorcism and the presence of evil in the world today. 

Our interview with Sir Anthony Hopkins ran on Monday (see the link at the end of this article).  For today’s article, we talked with actors Colin O’Donoghue, a native of Ireland, who plays seminarian Michael Kovak; Alice Braga, from Brazil, who plays the journalist Angeline; Matt Baglio, the author of the book on which the movie is based; and Father Gary Thomas, the priest on whom the book is based.  I asked O’Donoghue and Braga first if the making of this movie affected their view of how they were raised as Catholics…
