Daily Catholic Quote from C. S. Lewis

C. S. Lewis

“A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word “darkness” on the walls of his cell.” (C. S. Lewis)

  1. My only contention is that C.S. Lewis is not Catholic.
He might be sharing a Catholic truth, but he’s not Catholic.
He was very good friends with J.R.R Tolkien, who is a Catholic.

I just wanted to point that out but if there is any information that I am missing, please let me know.

  2. Cmon,

One need not be Catholic to say something profoundly Catholic. The title of the feature is Daily Catholic Quote, not Daily Quote by a Catholic.

  3. True, Lewis was not Catholic, but his theology was very Catholic. He is considered by some to be an “honorary Catholic”. Some converts to Catholicism give him the credit for pointing them towards the Catholic Church. Hope that helps…
