Daily Quote from Dr. Peter Kreeft

“The big, blazing truth about man is that he has a heaven-sized hole in his heart, and nothing else can fill it. We pass our lives trying to fill the Grand Canyon with marbles. As Augustine said: “Thou hast made us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee.”

  1. “We pass our lives trying to fill the Grand Canyon with marbles.” An apt discription of my life until the summer of 2010. I tried to fill the void in my soul with anything and everything I would think help me. Alcohol, drugs, sex, power over, money, possessions, self-will run riot. I was always living for the flesh, feeding the body and never giving a thought to the soul, it was dead. In the end I was empty in every way, I was cornered, no more plans on what to do next. God had me right where He wanted me, alone, afraid and powerless to anything about it. I surrendered sometime in July of 2010, the effects were slow to come about, but as they started to appear I could not see, but others did. When a friend came up to me one Sunday after hearing speak, he said, something about you is different, something about you has changed. It was then I saw, God had started working in my life. Today my soul is constantly being fill with Christ, my cup runneth over, praise to Almighty God the Father, for I was lost, but, now I am found.
    God Bless

  2. Good for you, Gary! Thanks be to God!

Your journey with Christ has only just begun.
