I am so glad my article gave rise to your memories. I can hear my own mother say those same words. It is hard to believe she passed on 13 years ago, 29 years after my father.

Growing up, for me, was a very special time. I was blessed with the best of families. The love my mother and father had for Jesus, their love for His Sacred Word and the love and devotion they gave to His Blessed Mother and His Church were exactly the gifts Our Lord asked them to give to me. This is what He asks of all parents.

The day my mother died, I felt all alone. But I kept hearing my mother’s last words to me, “Always remember that I love you.” As I knelt down to say the rosary for her, I realized she truly loved me because she left me the greatest inheritance a parent could leave their child: faith in God and hope of salvation.
