A a parent, I resonate with your thinking on the dangers of materialism. By extension, it makes sense that this danger to our children would have a long term impact on vocations. I feel all of us, especially young people, are under a constant assault from advertisers to Buy!, Buy!, Buy! and the effort to fight it is exhausting. But, we have to keep trying.
